The Community

When half of the country’s population lives on an income of less than €1 a day, our dedication to the children must be accompanied by other actions. The day-to-day that we live in is always urgent.

We operate in an area of endemic poverty made worse by the backwardness of the countryside, the endless drought, and the war in nearby Somalia and its many refugees.

The programs we develop to help the Lamu community are:

FAMILIES
According to our available resources, we maintain a relief fund to address the most urgent cases that come to us, cases of extreme need with malnourished and often sick children and adults. With €50 per month, you can guarantee a daily meal to a family of six in a critical situation.

MANDA MAWENI
We collaborate with the school on the neighboring island of Manda, where hard work in the quarries is scarcely the only way of life. With €325 per month, you can provide nutritious milk and porridge to a village of around forty people, mostly refugees from drought and famine.

ENTREPRENEURIAL ALUMNI
With this help, Anidan alumni can open their own businesses to become self-sufficient. Thanks to your contribution, they open an electronics store, a beauty salon, and an art gallery, be partners in the new Anidan farm, and more.

Help us, help them. Donate.
